You've purchased your PlayStation 3 console and have begun to customize it by creating a profile. Now you want to change the look of your menu screen. Just like the wallpaper on a computer desktop, the background image of your PS3 says something about you and gives you something nice to look at.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Turn on your PlayStation 3 console.
Step2
Download an image to your PS3. You can do this using the Internet Browser, by uploading files from a digital camera, or friends can send you images through the message feature.
Step3
Choose the image you wish to use from your photos in the "Main Menu" and press the Triangle button.
Step4
Choose "View." This will show your image in full screen.
Step5
Press the triangle button to bring up your controls. Scroll to the right and press X to select "Set as Wallpaper."
Step6
Use the right joystick to zoom in or out and frame the image in the box that appears on the screen. When it is the proper size, press X. If you are prompted to overwrite your current wallpaper, choose "Yes." The image you have chosen is now set as your background for your PS3.
Step7
Turn this wallpaper on or off in the "Theme Settings" menu in the "Main" menu.
Step8
Change your background again by repeating Steps 2 through 6.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose an image that includes a large amount of a solid color. White images, or images with a lot of detail, can obscure the screen text in the "Main" menu.
