Step 1
Take lessons. Like anything in life, flamenco dancing is easier to learn from someone who knows what they're doing. Join a class that meets once or twice a week and you'll get better in no time. Just make sure to pay attention to what the teacher is asking you to do.
-
Step 2
Practice your steps. We all know that practice makes perfect. Even the most talented dancers practice outside of lessons. This will make lessons flow smoother and speed up the learning process. Generally, the more you practice flamenco dancing, the easier it will be to learn.
-
Step 3
Learn some Spanish to help you on your way. You don't have to be fluent, but you should at least know the names of the moves you're performing, and the names of the dances as well.
-
Step 4
Rent a dance studio. A couple hours of seclusion per week can go a long way when you're finally away from distractions. This is a cheap and easy way to avoid irritating your neighbors with all the tapping caused by your flamenco dancing.
-
Step 5
Perform for an audience. Take part in a competition or recital to help you hone your skills and provide some excitement. After all, most flamenco performers dance in front of a crowd. The excitement and cheering of an audience are part of the flamenco tradition.
