Step 1
Understand that you always use your left arm to indicate any sign. It's universal.
-
Step 2
Know when to begin using a signal. It's safer to notify others of any turn well in advance of your action.
-
Step 3
Make cycling left turn signals by extending your arm straight out. Your arm should be parallel to the ground.
-
Step 4
Stick the upper part of your arm parallel to the ground for a right turn. Your forearm should be vertical with the road. Your arm is in the shape of the letter "L".
-
Step 5
Notify others that you'll be stopping or hitting the brakes by placing your upper arm parallel to the road and your forearm downward toward the ground. This is basically the opposite of the right turn signal.
