How to Choose the Best Guild Wars Campaign
Guild Wars has risen to become one of the most popular MMOs of all time. Its mix of dramatic storylines, complex locations and no monthly fee design has taken the game to over 4 million subscribers. With three full stand-alone campaigns (Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall) and now an expansion pack (Eye of the North), it can be difficult to decide which of the games is right for you.

1
Think about your play style (PvP or PvE) in previous games. Of the games, Prophecies is very general, Factions is geared towards PvP and Nightfall is geared towards PvE; for some this one factor makes up their mind.
-
2
Decide if you plan to play by yourself or with other people. One important factor of Guild War's design is henchmen and heroes. These NPCs will allow players to go into missions with a party, but with no other people. If you plan to go it alone, Nightfall is the only campaign that has heroes.

3
Look at the information on the Guild Wars website regarding classes. There are two classes specific to Factions and two specific to Nightfall, if either of them seems like something you would be interested in, look into that game.
-
4
Choose how much time and effort you want to put into skill and gear collection. Prophecies gives characters the most quest based skill and gear rewards and Factions gives the most skill points (so you can buy your own skills).
-
5
Figure out the speed at which you like to play. Prophecies has the slowest pacing which allows you to learn to use your abilities over time. Factions has the fastest increase in power but also has the shortest campaign.
