Things You’ll Need:
- Jump rope
- Aerobic, tennis or basketball shoes
Step1
Choose a jump rope that fits your height. To determine if your rope is the correct length hold the middle of the rope with your foot while pulling the handles up tight. The handles should come up to the middle of your chest.
Step2
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart holding your rope in front of you to get ready for jumping rope figure eight style.
Step3
Place one end of the rope in each hand with your thumbs facing upward.
Step4
Press your elbows into your side and pull your hands up to waist level.
Step5
Swing the rope from side to side in a figure eight pattern without jumping through it.
Step6
Keep hand movements quick and in sync and try to work the rope as fast as you can without losing your step. Continue the movement to jump rope figure eight style.
