Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Ignore the question totally. When you are asked a rude question such as "how much money do you make?" just ignore the question as though you didn't hear it. Most people will get the hint and won't ask again.
Step2
Change the subject when asked a rude question. Change the subject in an obvious way so the person asking the rude question knows without a doubt that you are changing the subject. For example, if you are asked "did you have liposuction?" you could respond with "did you watch American Idol last night?" The person asking the rude question has no doubt that you will not answer rude questions.
Step3
Ask your own rude question, but do it with humor. For example, if the person asks you again "how much money do you make?" you can reply with "who wants to know?" or "do you need a loan?"
Step4
Distract the person asking you the rude question. For example, if someone asks you why you've been married so many times, respond by suggesting there is something on their teeth. Insist there is something there even after they've tried to remove it. Distraction will work every time.
Step5
Side step the rude question with a "quasi" reply. In the rude marriage question, you can side step it by exclaiming, " that reminds me, did you hear that Bob and Alice are getting married next month?" Side stepping the rude question works well most of the time. If the person asks the rude question again, simply change tactics and ignore it or change the subject.

on 5/17/2008 I have been married for 10 years. My husband is 39 years older then me and I have kept my last name. I am 29 but I don't look my age. People assume dressed down 19-21 and dressed up 21-22. Sometimes people assume he has rented me for the weekend even though I wear my wedding ring. How do I respond to the following questions with class and like a lady. 1) Are you guys really married, 2) How did you meet her EXACTLY they ask my husband while I am standing right there, my usual response to that is "Mail order catalog". The man laugh really hard until their wives stop them with a mean stare and then the glare at me. I usualy get these really mean looks from women like if I am giving their husbands IDEAS. Please that is crazy thinking in their part. How do I respond to these rude questions with and wit.
