If you didn't get a chance to clean out the camp stove after your last trip, it may not be working when you need it next. Camp stoves don't require a tremendous amount of maintenance. Take care of it, and your stove may last you for the rest of your camping days. It is as easy as 1-2-3 if you know what to do.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Pressurized air
  • Liquid soap
  • Cleaning solution
  • Scrubbing pads
  • Oil

Step1
Make certain that the stove is cold before doing any maintenance on it. Depressurize and remove the fuel tank prior to removing any parts.
Step2
Use compressed air to blow out the generator tube on the camp stove after every use. The tube can easily get plugged by carbon, so this is an important step.
Step3
Oil the pump plunger in the unit at least once a month. To do this, put a drop of oil in the hole.
Step4
Dismantle and clean the entire valve assembly after coming home from a camping trip. Take apart the generator tube, fuel-air tube, valve stem, and valve assembly for a thorough cleanse.
Step5
Clean the grill and outer assembly with appropriate cleaners when necessary, particularly after a spill-over. Household cleaning products can be used to get this done. A scrubbing pad may be used or tough jobs.
