Things You'll Need:
- Accents and candles in fall colors
- Leaves, twigs and acorns
- Construction paper
- Pumpkins and gourds
-
Step 1
Figure out your budget. If you're living in a dorm room, chances are you'd rather spend the little money you do have on beer. Consider how much you want to spend on decorations, before you go out and buy that six foot inflatable turkey. Your local dollar store is a great place for getting cheap decorations.
-
Step 2
Decorate your room in fall colors. Throw pillows and blankets in yellow, red, brown, orange and green will give your dorm room that Thanksgiving feel. You can also pick out some candles in fall colors and scents.
-
Step 3
Go outside and steal from nature. You can find all sorts of things outside, to incorporate into your Thanksgiving decorations, like colorful leaves, twigs or acorns.
-
Step 4
Regress to childhood. Remember all of those construction paper turkeys you made by tracing your hand? Well, get to tracing. Display your hand-traced turkeys on your dorm room walls or even on your door.
-
Step 5
Buy some small pumpkins and gourds at your local grocery store to place around your room.
-
Step 6
Be creative! Use construction paper to make and cut out fall-colored leaves, pumpkins, tee-pees, an Indian headdress or anything else that your imagination comes up with.
