How to pull off a fake bag

You see them everywhere nowadays--Coach, LV, Prada, and Gucci designer bags. Don't have enough money for the real deal? More and more I see ladies opting for faux bags; some can pull it off, others can't. Don't be a victim! Here is your How-to guide on pulling off fake bags.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Even fake bags aren't cheap. Well, at least, not the GOOD fake bags. Keeping your budget in mind, opt for a small or medium sized designer bag that you can match to most of your wardrobe.
Step2
Fake bags are exactly what they sound like--Fake. Bring a picture of the designers logo so you can compare it with the one you want to buy. You don't want to get it home and realize that it barely looks like the real deal, then you've wasted money and I guarantee you won't wear it as much.
Step3
Venders tend to sell their cheaply made bags for major dough only because of the design. Check to see that it was made fairly well. If the straps aren't real leather, they could easily fray and break with just a few uses.
Step4
Stay away from large, tote-like bags. Even though you want to show off your timeless bag, the bigger the bag, the easier to tell it is a fraud. The first faux bag I bought (at $95) was a large tote I used for lugging around my heavy work load. Less than a month later, the straps were falling apart so badly that I had to chuck it. I could have used that money to buy a really nice leather bag!
Step5
Lastly, it's all about confidence! Treat your bag like it is real, carry yourself well and stop being so paranoid. People have more to look at than your bag! You will be a confident-faux-bag-owner in no time!

Tips & Warnings

  • It's all about confidence!
  • Remember, no fake bags that are larger than a small briefcase. A fake is a fake is a fake. If your straps are fraying or the design is a little off, your big bag will tattle on your really fast and you won't be foolin' no one.

on 7/24/2008 YAY! At last somebody recognises that some girls want to look good even if their bag is a fake! We don't all earn fat salaries and it is unreasonable to expect everyone to be able to afford the real deal. If fake boobs, lips and other body parts are acceptable, why not fake bags?
