Make your car rental reservation by phone. Vehicles can be reserved by calling (800)654-3131 for U.S. locations and (800)654-3001 for international arrangements. You can also find contact information for your local Hertz location on the Hertz website under the menu selection "Locations, Cars and More."

Reserve your car online at the Hertz website. Hertz offers a user-friendly website that makes the car rental process a breeze. Start here to get all the information you need for a quick reservation right at your own computer. Begin the 4-step process by selecting "Rates and Reservations" from the left-hand menu on the homepage, followed by "Get a Quote...Reserve a Car."

Fill out the "Plan Trip" form. You will be asked to include the renting city or airport code, rental dates and vehicle type. Click "Submit" to continue.

Select the car you want on the "Choose Car" screen. Many options will be shown under the vehicle type you selected, including photos, car amenities and the base price. At the bottom of the page is a list of additional extras--navigation system, child car seats and more. Press "Submit" to move on.

Finalize your Hertz reservation on the "Book" page. Here you will see your quote, which will summarize the car type, price per day and the total, including taxes and other fees. Add your personal information and click "Reserve It."

Approve your Hertz reservation in the "Confirm" window. The confirmation number will be given for future reference, and the complete reservation will be available for printing.

Check your email instantly for further confirmation. In just a few quick steps you are ready to pick up your car at your destination. Be sure to take your driver's license and a major credit card to put you on the road in your Hertz rental car.
