Bee stings can be painful and, in rare cases, deadly. Keeping a bee sting kit handy when traveling or camping is a good idea because medical help may not be available. Bee sting kits should contain the items you need to safely treat a bee sting, at least until you are able to obtain further medical help. Follow these steps to use a bee sting kit.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin treatment immediately after being stung. Clean the area carefully using the antiseptic wipes.

  2. Step 2

Remove the stinger with tweezers if it is a bee sting. If it's a wasp or hornet sting, use the end of the lever on the bee and wasp extractor vacuum to gently scrape the stinger off.

  3. Step 3

Apply the bee and wasp extractor vacuum to the sting as soon as possible if it's a bee, wasp or hornet sting. It should have an interchangeable head that varies for the size of the area to be treated.

  4. Step 4

Hold the poison extractor in one hand and hold it in place for 40 to 60 seconds. After the venom is extracted, shake and squeeze the ice pack to activate it. It will instantly become cold. Apply it to the affected are to relieve pain and swelling.

  5. Step 5

Use the herbal gel on the sting area to relieve swelling and stop itching. Place a bite patch or bandage, which may contain chamomile, over the sting. You can leave it in place for up to 10 hours so its ingredients can be absorbed.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use the bee sting kit to provide relief from the bites and stings of other insects.
  • Difficulty breathing, wheezing, swelling in other areas of the body, dizziness or a drop in blood pressure are all signs of anaphylactic shock. If the sting victim exhibits any of these signs, immediately seek medical attention.
