Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide what theme to base decorating around. Go for bright primary colors like orange, yellow and green if the 1970s is your favorite. Contrast with white and black. Or, base the theme on the age of the camper.
Step2
Scour flea markets and second-hand stores for vintage finds. Buy items that fit your chosen theme or decade. Garage sales and auctions can turn up vintage pieces also.
Step3
Clean or paint second-hand pieces. Ignore scuffs and scratches on furniture finds. A fresh coat of glossy black or white paint can transform almost anything to faux vintage.
Step4
Be whimsical. Throw caution to the wind and buy mix-matching sets of glasses and silverware. Use a glass pitcher as a vase or a mug as a flower pot.
Step5
Make it personal. Dig up old family photographs and display them collage-style in old window frames. Or, take black and white photographs of camper destinations and frame them instead.
Step6
Use wallpaper to spruce up the surroundings. Find vintage prints or prints that fit your theme. Fabric makes a great wallcover too and takes less time to hang than wallpaper.
Step7
Replace counter tops and tables with custom-made ones for added space and function. Paint kitchen appliances for a quick, budget-conscious update. Cover couches and chairs with slipcovers in various prints. Go ahead and be funky.
Step8
Go the extra mile. Buy a fondue set or black and white television to give the camper a vintage feel.
