How to Be Devoted

Picture Olivia Newton-John singing "Hopelessly Devoted to You." It takes some know-how to be devoted to another person. Taking time to show that you care, and to think about why you fell in love with that person means a lot. With a little work you can be devoted to your significant other and show them that you love them every day.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Use the golden rule. In marriage and relationships it may be hard to do unto them as you would have them do unto you, but hard doesn't mean impossible. The golden rule is golden for a reason, and follow it in love.
Step2
Find out their likes and dislikes. It is a simple deed, but if you observe the little things your partner enjoys it can make a big difference. Notice their enjoyment of old mystery flicks and surprise them with a matinee. Be devoted by being willing to make small sacrifices.
Step3
Use touch to show you care. Holding hands did not go out of style once you graduated from high school. Be devoted and hold their hand when you walk to the car, touch their face lovingly for no reason, and caress their arm or back when you are together.
Step4
Make a special dinner. It doesn't have to be about spending lots of money to be romantic. Show your affection by learning what dishes they really like and surprising them with it. Even if it is cheap spaghetti with buttery garlic bread, it is always the action that counts.
Step5
Let them know you miss them. Life gets in the way of love all the time. When you are both too busy to spend time together, send them a little note saying you miss them. Small messages can make a big difference and can help you be devoted.
