Step 1
Choose your boat. Larger and more sturdy yachts, sail or power boats, will offer stability and privacy, while still allowing you to enjoy the motion of the water. Smaller motor boats, canoes and inflatable rafts not only offer very little privacy, but are not made for such vigorous activity and will easily take on water.

Step 2
Decide where to set sail, whether it be a secluded lake or the open sea. Consider how much motion you would like to experience. If in a larger boat, the ocean or a rushing river may offer just the right amount of rocking. If you have chosen a smaller boat, a placid lake or pond will probably be a better choice.

Step 3
Wear a life-jacket if you decide to rock a little boat. It may not be the sexiest of attire, but safety is important and rolling yourself out of the boat and getting caught in a current is not romantic at all.
-
Step 4
Drop the anchor or have a captain to man the boat. It is dangerous to leave your boat drifting in the open sea or speeding down a river with no one at the helm.
