Building a cobblestone charcoal barbecue in your patio or deck is a great addition to your backyard that you can use many nights each year to cook and entertain. Building a cobblestone charcoal barbecue is a fairly easy process compared with building other types of outdoor kitchenry.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Arrange the cobblestones in the area where you want to have them in your deck or patio. Leave some space between the cobblestones--about a quarter inch--so you have enough space for the mortar. Make the wall to your cobblestone charcoal barbecue as thick and as decorative as you want it. It's completely up to you.
Step2
Put down an inch of mortar for two cobblestones at the first corner, and push the first two cobblestones into place. Do the same thing at the second corner. Do all the corners first until all the corners are complete.
Step3
Complete the first row of cobblestones aligning the outside edges. Make sure the edges of your cobblestones are symmetrical and where you want them.
Step4
Finish the base of the cobblestone charcoal barbecue by completing three sides and filling in the area between them. Lay the second course of cobblestones on top of the others. Complete each layer of the cobblestones until you have the entire barbecue created as tall as you want it.
Step5
Smooth all the joints to your cobblestone charcoal barbecue with a jointing tool. Allow the mortar to set for a while, and clean off the surfaces by using a stiff brush.
Step6
Place your charcoal in the center of the cobblestone charcoal barbecue, and you're ready to cook.
