How to Care for a Hockey Stick

- Towel or rag
- Quick dry epoxy
- Cloth tape
- Automotive touch up paint

Wipe off your hockey stick immediately after playing to remove any moisture that may have built up on the stick; then allow it to air dry naturally.

Use quick drying epoxy cement to fill in any deep scratches that your hockey stick might have gotten during play.

Protect the lower four inches of your hockey stick shaft from hacking by the other players, by applying cloth tape to that area.

Buy a tube or bottle of automotive touch up paint that matches your hockey stick. Use the paint to touch up any scratches on your stick to keep it looking new.

Tape the grip of your hockey stick to help eliminate slices and to add control.

Tips & Warnings
Store your hockey stick in an area that is well ventilated.
If you have a field hockey stick, make sure you only use it on turf or grass.
Never use your hockey stick to hit rocks, stones or other player's hockey sticks. Using your hockey stick in this way can damage it.
Never store or dry your hockey stick near a source of heat.
Do not oil your hockey stick with linseed oil as this can soften the wood and add weight to the head.
