Chagas disease is also known as South American Trypanosomiasis. It is a parasitic infection caused by the protozoa Trypanosoma cruzi. Chagas disease is transmitted by a blood-sucking insect through its feces in 80 percent of the cases and transfusion of infected blood in up to 20 percent of the cases. About 150 species of mammals can be fully infected, including humans. The following steps will show how to treat Chagas disease.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Treat acute phase Chagas disease with benznidazole. This is the only known drug that is active against Trypanosoma cruzi and tolerated by humans. The adult dose is 5 mg/kg/day and the pediatric dose is 5 to 10 mg/kg/day. Benznidazole is given orally in two or three doses per day for 60 days.

  2. Step 2

Use corticosteroids only in cases of severe Chagas disease involving meningoencephalitis or myocarditis. Moderate chagasic megaesophagus can be temporarily relieved by dilating the esophagogastric sphincter with balloons. Patients with chagasic megacolon can be treated with drugs that stimulate colon mobility, lubricant laxatives or a water-glycerol enema.

  3. Step 3

Perform required surgery for cardiac complications of Chagas disease. Implant a pacemaker in patients with severe chagasic bradyarrhythmias. Recurrent ventricular tachycardia may need to be treated with surgical ablation. A heart transplant also may be indicated.

  4. Step 4

Treat moderate chagasic megaesophagus surgically with achalsia. Advanced cases may require a partial esophageal resection.

  5. Step 5

Consider the Duhamel-Haddad operation as a surgical treatment for patients with chagasic megacolon.

ATTENTION: To whom it may concern

The heart disease and the cancer rage, presently, in the American Republique, but the cause of the both of these diseases may, in fact, be caused of a microbe?

And it has been, already, suspected that the PAP may be caused of an microbe; but the occurrence of the Chagas disease may be proof that the heart disease and the cancer, both, may be caused of an microbe?

The evidence is to suggest, already, this possibility. Just thought I would tell you when this insight might suggest of hte directi of the research necessary to do so to prove?

Respectfully,
