Twins have especially close bonds. As newborns, many twins end up co-sleeping in the same crib and feel a strong connection. The warmth of each other in the cribs is very consoling, and many times this enriches the bond between the twins. Once the time comes to separate the twin babies and to transition them to big beds, parents feel anxiety about how the twins cope. Read on to learn how to transition twins to big beds.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Take your toddler twins on a shopping spree to shop for twin-size beds. Let them look and feel out the big beds in the store to get them excited.
Step2
Buy the twin beds that are most appropriate for your budget and for your twin toddlers.
Step3
Set up the twin beds in their bedroom. Put the twin beds together to form an over-sized bed. This way the twins can begin their transition to big beds by sleeping together just as they have in the past.
Step4
Bring your twin toddlers to the store to purchase sheet and comforter sets to make their transition to big beds more exciting.
Step5
Purchase some side railings in case you are worried that the twins could fall out of their beds.
Step6
Prepare your toddler twins for the next transition of separating their twin beds. Some parents may choose to keep the twin beds together. As the children grow, you might have to split the beds up on opposite sides of the room so that they aren't tossing and turning on top of each other every night.
Step7
Reward the twins for a good transition into their big beds.
