Step 1
Search online auction sites such as eBay. Although twin strollers cost a lot to send, you can save on shipping by looking at local listings only.
-
Step 2
Browse the craigslist website. This is a valuable resource for parents purchasing and selling items in local areas. This site is fabulous when looking for an inexpensive double stroller because you can post a wanted ad.
-
Step 3
Contact local consignment shops to see if they currently carry any double strollers. Leave your name and number in case anyone happens to drop off such an item in the next few weeks.
-
Step 4
Talk to friends, family, neighbors and colleagues to see if they know anyone who had twins in the last few years. You may just happen to stumble upon a couple who has twins and doesn't use the double stroller any longer.
-
Step 5
Print flyers to post in local stores and supermarkets around your locality. Strangers that live in your city or town may just have a twin stroller sitting unused in their cellar, shed, or garage. They would love to make some money off of it, and you would be getting a deal on an inexpensive twin stroller.
-
Step 6
Purchase the inexpensive twin stroller after you've conducted all your research.

on 11/24/2008 Wow! This is good advice. I did not follow (unfortunately) these rules when I buy my first stroller for twins. I have Graco DuoGlider. It is good but expensive stroller. Unfortunately my girls doesn`t like to sit behind each other now when they are toddlers and I have to buy new side-by-side stroller ! I will be smarter this time and I will follow simple steps that you recommended. I also collect a lot of info on how to choose good stroller.
