Whether you're a songwriter who needs extra income or an entrepreneur who needs to advertise your business, knowing how to write a catchy jingle can come in handy. At first it may seem difficult, but writing creative lyrics and setting them to a memorable tune can be easy, fun and rewarding, both financially and otherwise. Here are some tips to help you write a successful jingle.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know the ins and outs of the product you're trying to sell. This helps you write a jingle that is accurate and informative, which makes buyers more familiar with what makes the product different from and better than the competitor's.

  2. Step 2

Write lyrics that use catchy literary devices. Puns, rhymes and onomatopoeia are all great ways to catch the listener's attention and draw him into your advertisement.

  3. Step 3

Make sure to include the name of the product and the business in the lyrics. A buyer can't buy a product if he or she doesn't remember what it is.

  4. Step 4

Write sentences that are strong, bright and filled with action verbs. Avoid sentences that feel sloppy or awkward by weeding out passive voice and complicated phrasing.

  5. Step 5

Write a tune that's memorable. It doesn't have to be cutesy, happy or set in a major key, but it absolutely needs to stick easily in the listener's memory. Using arpeggios and scales to build your melody keep it simple and focused and make it much easier for the buyer to remember.
