Every day you're surrounded by people whose motives may not be clear. You may wonder whether they really are who they say they are, and if they really believe what they say that they do. Learning to spot a poser can be somewhat tricky, especially if the person is really good at hiding his true identity. Here's how you can spot a poser in your own social circles.

1. Check out her reactions. If you want to spot a poser, just look at her reaction based on everyone else's. For instance, let's say you just heard that your favorite band is coming to play in your town. Your friends will no doubt be excited, but the poser will be jumping up and down, screaming with excitement. A poser tends to go over the top to make sure everyone believes that she belongs.

2. Look at what he wears. No one fits into a cliché perfectly, but a poser will try his hardest to blend in. He will always wear what everyone else is wearing and never step outside of their comfort zone. You're likely to find him in outfits that everyone else already owns.

3. Ask her a simple question. A poser is great at pretending but is often caught when it comes to specifics. For example, she may know the hit songs of a band but won't be able to tell you any other songs that the band sings.

4. Call him on it. If you want to spot a poser, just look for the person who is quick to label others as posers. Most are insecure and try to pass the blame to anyone else.
