Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Increase mobility using yoga by learning a few of the simpler moves targeted to certain areas of the body. The exercise of yoga uses many different poses (too numerous to explain here) to encourage your body to function at its optimal level. For those suffering from a disease such as arthritis or for those just stiff from lack of movement, yoga can help. There are several seated poses that will improve movement in your hips and lower back.

  2. Step 2

Try learning some standing poses to increase mobility using yoga. The standing poses help to get your feet and your body lined up so that you become more flexible, thereby making you more mobile. Neck and shoulder muscles also become more supple and mobile with standing poses.

  3. Step 3

Learn forward bends in yoga poses to increase mobility. Forward bends will help your lower back and hamstrings to become loose, releasing stress and helping you to become more mobile throughout your body.

  4. Step 4

Elevate your attitude using yoga. This simple exercise can increase your mobility by improving the way you are thinking. Sit comfortably on the edge of a chair. Put your hands behind you with palms down on the chair. Your fingers should be pointing away from you. Breathe in as you lift your chest upward. Straighten your arms as you lift your chest and breathe deeply. Release your breath slowly and relax. Repeat several times. Mind and body alike will mobilize.

Tips & Warnings
  • The entertainment/electronics department of your local discount store should have videos or CDs that teach yoga. Find a yoga class in your area if you can't get all you need from CDs, videos and TV.
