Discussion forums are designed for obtaining information about anything. They can also be a great place to exchange ideas and information, which can be related to your work, your play, or just something you want to know more about. Discussion forums can be used to help get ideas for projects too.

1. Think of something you would like to learn more about. If you are a teacher, you can get new ideas or information from other teachers about teaching and incorporate that into your classroom.
2. Go to a search engine and type in whatever subject you thought of plus the words discussion forum. For example, if you want to find a teacher discussion forum, simply type "teacher discussion forum" or "classroom ideas discussion forum."
3. Pick one website that has come up. Don't always pick the first one that comes up. Scroll down and scan the titles to see what catches your eye and what would have the most value to you.
4. Explore several of the sites that come up, to find which one would best suit your area of interest and compliment your learning and writing style. Most discussion forums have interesting people with whom you would love to interact. You could post controversial questions which helps with gathering different perceptions about various ideas.
5. Have fun discussing. Don't be afraid to ask questions. With a discussion forum, you are able to ask questions online that you might not ask someone face to face.
