Get a Dragon Costume

Step1
Use Nextag to comparison shop for different dragon costumes (see Resources below). Nextag has a comprehensive list of dragon costumes currently available and you can easily see the prices and the retailers carrying each design.
Step2
Get a dragon costume directly from a manufacturer whenever you need a specific size or design. Many times you can have custom dragon costumes made for a few dollars more than settling on a costume you're not entirely happy with.
Step3
Visit a Halloween store (they're often only available seasonally) and get a dragon costume right off the rack. Often, there are great deals on costumes in the weeks prior to and the days following Halloween.
Step4
Make your own dragon costume! Templates from websites like FamilyFun show you simple and affordable ways to make great looking dragon costumes for a fraction of the cost of a pre-made costume (see Resources below). With materials like felt and glitter and elements as simple as plain green sweatpants you can look terrific for all your friends.
Step5
Get a dragon themed costume to go with your child's dragon costume. Be a wizard, a witch or a noble knight while you take your son or daughter trick-or-treating.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get your dragon costume dry cleaned instead of settling for a machine wash. This will protect the fabric and any details as well as keep the costume from tumbling or being strongly agitated during the cleaning process. Most importantly, there is no heat in dry cleaning, which could melt delicate fibers in the costume.
  • Avoid wearing heavy dragon costumes for prolonged periods when it is hot, or indoors where there is no air conditioning. Such costumes can become unbearable and uncomfortable without adequate ventilation.
  • Be aware of what materials are used to make your dragon costume. If there are fire hazards associated with a particular costume, then be careful how and when you wear it.
