How to Create a Neopets Account

If you want to join the millions of people around the world who have fun meeting friends and playing with their virtual pets on Neopets, there's no reason to wait. It will only take you a couple of minutes to create a Neopets account, and then you can get started customizing your gameplay.

Sign Up for Neopets and Create Your Account

1. Select the "Login to Neopets" option from the Neopets home page (see Resources below).

2. Click the "Sign Up!" icon that appears on the "NeoLogin" page for users who do not yet have an account.

3. Type your preferred user name. Click the "Check availability" button to see if you will be able to use that name. If the name you want is unavailable, you can select "Find a name for me," and the site will automatically suggest variations of the name you want so that you can pick one.

4. Choose an entirely different user name if you do not want a variation of your first choice.

5. Create a password for your account. You will be asked to confirm it.

6. Read the terms and conditions of service before you proceed. Your account can be frozen if you violate any of these terms. You also want to understand your rights to privacy with regard to your activities on Neopets.

7. Enter the personal information required. You must include your country of residence, state (if you live in the U.S.) and ZIP code. You will also be asked for your first name, gender, and birth date.

8. Give Neopets a valid email address where you can receive support emails.

9. Decide whether you want to create a Neopet now or later. If you select later, you will be taken to the end of the process to create your account.

10. Activate your account by following the instructions in the email sent to your email account. Since you'll need the activation email in order to access your account, you'll want to check both your inbox and spam folders for the letter.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure you have a safe password, as many people try to steal Neopets accounts. Neopets recommends that your password have at least 6 characters and contain at least two numbers.
• Names must not exceed 20 characters. Characters include letters, numbers and underscores. You cannot use any other form of punctuation.
• While you can give any first name you like, do not falsify your date of birth or email account. You may need both to use your account in the future. Your gender is relevant only because some NPCs (non-player characters) in the game will refer to you as "Sir" or "Madame" based on the gender that you indicate.
