How to Install Xara3D

Xara3D software is specifically designed to create 3D website animation such as buttons, logos and animated images. It also allows for users to create unique 3D screensavers by using a user-friendly, graphically rich interface. The software is available on CD or by download and is quick to install.

• Computer with Windows 2000, XP or Vista

Install Xara3D

1. Purchase or download the Xara3D software. If you download the program, you will need to create a password and have a valid email address.

2. Insert your Xara3D disc or, if you downloaded the program, double click on the installer file found on your desktop. Wait for the installer screen to appear.

3. Select "Start -> Run" in Windows if the installer screen does not appear. Specify the correct letter for your CD drive and enter ":\RunCd.exe" after it.

4. Click on the "Install Xara3D" option.

5. Click "Next" at the install wizard welcome screen.

6. Read the licensing agreement. It explains the conditions under which you agree to use the software, including such information as only being able to install the program on one computer. Click "Yes" to accept the agreement and continue installation.

7. Choose a folder in which the Xara3D software will be installed. The program sets up a default folder, but if you want it in a different folder click "Browse" to choose or create one. When you are through, select "Next."

8. Type or select a program folder from the provided list. This is where the Xara3D icon will appear. Click "Next."

9. Wait for the program to complete the configuration process and then click "Finish" to complete installation.

10. Remove the CD from the CD drive and restart your computer.

Set up Xara3D

11. Launch the Xara 3D program by clicking on "Run Xara3D" or the Xara3D icon on your desktop. In Windows you can also access this through the Start menu by choosing "Start -> Programs -> Xara -> Xara3D6."

12. Unlock the software by entering your serial number when the prompt screen appears. The serial number is located on the back of the Xara3D CD case or was provided when you downloaded the software. If, by some chance, you've lost your serial number after downloading the software, visit the Xara website, sign in with your email and password and retrieve it (see Resources below).

13. Click on "Run Xara3D."

14. Disable the "Tip of the Day" screen by unchecking the "Show Tips on Start Up" box, unless you wish to see the screen every time the program launches.

15. Open a new project in the "File" menu and begin creation.

Tips & Warnings

• The software only works on Windows 2000, XP or Vista operating systems, takes 100 MB of disk space and requires that your computer has at least 128MB of RAM.
