In this how to quit cold turkey readers will learn how to once and for all stop their addictions.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Pick a day to quit. This day has to be fixed, there can be no changes to the day. If you say, "I'll just try to do it tomorrow," that will not work, chances are you will just abandon the whole thing. If that happens choose another day and try to get in the mind set again, you have not failed it just was not the right time. Your addiction is serious and controlling, you must be ready to stop.
Step2
It will be hard to do it on your own so try to get at least one person on your side, a family member, friend or co-worker. If these people know you, they will understand how addicted you are. A good way to help you put another spin on quitting is by betting with somebody that you can quit, i.e.. I bet my girlfriend that if I could quit smoking cigarettes then in a month she would have to take me on a weekend trip, if I lost then I would have to take her away. It just gives you something else to think about instead of the cravings.
Step3
The first couple of days are the hardest. The only way to get through these days is by substituting something else into your life instead of your addiction. I use pen caps, I would chew on the top of a bic pen cap and suck in through the little air hole on them. Also food and sleep helped a lot. I ate much more during the first couple of weeks and started falling asleep three hours earlier than normal so I would not think about lighting up. What ever will take your mind off of the addiction helps.
Step4
By this time you have not partake in your addictive habits for a couple of weeks and should be feeling better. If you have started doing what ever you are addicted to again then you just have to start all over again (and pay up on what ever bet you made) it does not mean that you have failed. Most people have to try many times to quit before they are success. You and everybody around you knows and wants you to stop, so get to it.

on 3/18/2008 I was a pack and a half a day smoker and quit smoking in one 30-minute treatment with laser therapy. I went to a company called Freedom Laser Therapy that provides a pain free low-level laser procedure which helps alleviate nicotine withdrawal symptoms. The staff at Freedom Laser Therapy is dedicated and passionate about helping smokers end their nicotine addiction.

I would really recommend laser therapy to help you quit smoking. Go to their locations page to find a Freedom Laser Therapy clinic or a local quit smoking laser therapy practionioner in your area. http://www.freedomlasertherapy.com
