My personal history with wet/dry rechargeable shavers:
I have owned several wet/dry rechargeable shavers over the years, some Panasonic, and one Norelco. Even my earliest Panasonic, which was really more like today's travel shavers, was quite an impressive shaver.
Then, I owned another (more advanced) Panasonic Linear wet/dry shaver, which was also very comfortable and close-shaving.
After that, I had a Norelco Advantage wet/dry, which is the one that can dispense Nivea shaving solution if you wish to use that function (I did not, after the first couple of Nivea refills...they are quite costly!).
The Norelco was not bad, but there is definitely a difference between rotary shaving and linear shaving, and I am now convinced that linear may be the better approach.

My personal journey to find the perfect shaver:
So, the Norelco finally gave out after a few years. I have finally learned that most of these rechargeable appliances are decidedly "throw-aways", because the rechargeable batteries have limits, and there is no way to replace them. It seems rather unfortunate, because the shavers were operating just fine otherwise, and it seems a shame to have to discard them.
But, alas..."it is what it is", as they say. Maybe that is just one way to ensure continued purchases of new shavers, who knows?

I took on the task of researching wet/dry rechargeable shavers to learn what the latest technology offered. Initially, I ordered and received a Braun for $36.99 from Amazon.com, which I thought was described as a wet/dry shaver; but when it arrived, I realized it was not. Rather, it was the kind which allows "running-water rinse", but the owner's manual clearly instructed to use the shaver only in dry conditions.
I returned that shaver unused, since my preference is wet/dry only. I then went back to the research.

I plugged the shaver in to charge the batteries, and the anticipation of trying it out began to build; especially since I'd been shaving with a blade razor for a couple of weeks while I shopped for the new shavers. I have been using this new Panasonic Linear shaver for a while now, and I must say I find it to be way more than I expected.

Rather, it removes simply by depressing two small buttons, one at either end of the head. Dropping the screen-head can damage the very delicate screens, and those tend to be rather costly to replace.
