Having a healthy diet is so important and so often ovrlooked in our fast paced world. Often we overlook the most basic solutions to feeling tired, not sleeping, wrinkles, acne and a host of other ailments that usually have their roots in a poor diet. Diet can even help overcome more serious diseases as well. Nature supplies us with some of the best treatments for what ails us. Did you know that almost all of our commonly used medicine is chemically based on some form of plant or herb. For example aspirin was originally created from the bark of the willow tree. The use of willow bark as a pain reliever was recorded as early as the 5th century BC.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Notebook
  • A Good Nutritional Reference Book
Step1
The first step is to invest in a really good nutritional reference book. Every household should have one and you should be reading it pretty regularly. Think of it like a dictionary or encyclopedia anytime you have question look it up- that's how information becomes part of your knowledge base. Soon you will know the answers to all your nutritional questions. I own Nutritional Healing published by the Vitamin Shoppe and I have found it to be a very unbiased look at many different types of natural healing dogmas, such as, Averudic, Chinese, Western, Native American & Herbal. It is easy to reference different ailments as well as cross reference food, herbs and supplements. You don't need to purchase this exact book, but yours should have the same attributes- a large index, good summaries, a wide variety of teaching. You want to have a as much information as you can on your specific needs so you can pick and choose and find what works for you.
Step2
Next is to write down what ailments you have. This could be anything from feeling tired all day to a more serious disease like cancer and really everything in between. Take a meticulous inventory of your body and how its doing, take a very close look at your sleeping habits, bodily function and how you feel in general. Don't overlook anything.
Step3
Now you have your reference book and your list of things your having trouble with. Now get in there and find your answer! Focus on one thing at a time- if you want to go the route of healing through food items focus on that, if you want to try herbal remedies stay with that at first. You going to find a regimen that works for your body and your lifestyle. Maybe you are always on the go and preparing 7 servings a day of vegetables a day won't work for you- then try the supplements or herbal remedies.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you can introduce 1 or 2 healthy components to your diet on a daily basis and get rid of 1 or 2 unhealthy habits, you are well on your way.
