How to Research Effectively in Bioshock
While taking pictures is the key to researching your enemies, there are several things you can do to maximize the amount of research points you get from every photograph. Though film may be plentiful, pictures do count and it may be a while in between encounters with Nitro Splicers, so try and get the most out of every picture!

1
Use the Photographer's Eye Tonics. These will increase the points you get for each photograph, regardless of how good it actually is. They also stack, so use them all if you've got them.
-
2
Try and center your subject. Targets in the middle of the photograph frame earn more points.

-
3
Photograph multiple subjects if you can. It's not always possible to photograph multiple Splicers at once, but when you can, be sure to do so! It greatly increases your points per photograph!
-
4
Zoom in on far-away subjects. The clearer the subject, the more points you get.
-
5
Take as many pictures as you can as quickly as you can. You will get a notice when you get no points from taking a subject. Until then, snap away!
-
6
Use the Natural Camoflage Tonic. This will allow you to take pictures of Splicers without them noticing you.
-
7
Goad the Splicer to attack. Action shots earn you more points and what looks better than a Splicer frantically trying to extinguish the flames you just covered him in?
