Bernat Super Stripes Yarn is a excellent Halloween Yarn

Crochet a Halloween scarf using, black, orange, purple, multi-colored, or the yarn color of your choice.

From Quick Guide: Halloween Gifts
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yarn of your choice Multi colored Bernat yarn or Red Heart Yarn, worsted weight, Crochet Hook Size I
  1. Step 1

Finished Size is about 4 Inches wide.
    Gauge: 9 sc rows = 2 inches, 7 sc = 2 inches

  2. Step 2

Gauge is not neccesary for this pattern because scarves come in so many widths. You can determine the length and width of your scarf. Your scarf can be made shorter or longer depending on your preference.

  3. Step 3

To Get started chain 15 (more or less depending on what you want your scarf width to be).

Row 1: SC in second chain from hook and and each one of the next 13 chains. (ch 1 to turn - 14 single crochet)

Row 2: SC in each sc across, ch 1 to turn (14 sc)

Additional Rows: Keep repeating Row 2 until you achieve your desired length of the scarf.

For the very last row: SC in each of the sc across, do not chain 1 at the end because you do not need to turn.

End: Leave a length of yarn to weave in and secure the ends. Cut the yarn and pull it through the final loop left on your hook. Weave in your ends and cut any additional yarn strings.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also crochet scarves with double crochet stitch, treble crochet, or half double crochet. You can make the scarf thicker or add another color by using double strands of yarn. Crocheters can also alternate colors on the scarf for a striped look.
  • Remember when crocheting items can turn out different from the instructions due to yarn variations, changing the size of the crochet hook, and the crocheters experience.
