Cook Corn on the Cob
Cook Corn on the Cob

Nothing says summer and fall like corn on the cob. There are various ways to cook it, but this article will focus on one of the most popular ways... grilling.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 ears of corn with the silk cut off
  • Butter
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Charcoal or Gas BBQ
  1. Step 1

First, fire up your BBQ. If it's charcoal, try to get the heat distributed as evenly as possible. Allow the grill to heat for about 10 minutes until it gets nice and hot.

  2. Step 2

Once the grill is hot, lay each ear of corn on the grill about 1 inch apart. Close the lid.

  3. Step 3

Check on the corn every 7 to 8 minutes or so. Rotate the corn periodically so each side gets cooked. When you think it is done, gently squeeze the corn. If it's hard, it's not done, when you feel the kernels soften, it should be ready. You can peel back the husk a bit and take a look.

  4. Step 4

Bring the corn inside, and husk right before you are ready to eat it. Add butter, salt and pepper, and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • The kernels of the corn may turn slightly black (or even really black) but that's okay, it all adds to the flavor.
  • If you pull the corn off and realize it's not done, that's okay. Just throw it on the grill again. If it's husked, you'll want to make sure to stand by it to prevent burning it.
  • Make sure to cut off the silk at the top of the corn. If you don't, you'll have a fire on your hands.
  • Take care not to overcook your corn, don't let it sit on the BBQ for too long without checking on it.
