Broken makup does not have to be thrown away. Are you tired of throwing away your expensive broken eye shadows, blushes, and face powders? Stop needlessly throwing out your makeup. Luckily, there is an easy solution to fix it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Broken makeup can be easily fixed by adding alcohol to it. Alcohol is used because it evaporates quickly. Fill the eye dropper up with rubbing alcohol.

  2. Step 2

Slowly, one drop at a time, add the alcohol to your broken makeup until it is a pasty consistency. This could take anywhere from one drop to ten depending on the size of the broken area.

  3. Step 3
    Smooth the broken makeup out

Use your finger to smooth out the makeup so it is fairly flat again. The surface need not be completely flat in order for the makeup to be useable. Concentrate on squishing the particles back together so that they will solidify when it dries.

  4. Step 4

Allow the makeup to sit untouched until completely dry. This could take anywhere from one hour to four hours. For best results, allow the makeup to dry overnight to ensure the best cohesion.

  5. Step 5
It does not have to be perfectly flat to be usable.

There you have it! It may not look pretty, but you can use it again without making a total mess.

Tips & Warnings
  • To prevent solid powders from shattering, place a cotton ball over each before closing the case.
  • This procedure usually only works with makeup that is powder form and was originally in a solid state.
