How to Make a Fabric Wreath for Any Occasion

Use whatever colors you want to make your fabric wreath.

Fabric wreaths can be a nice decoration for any time of the year. You can create them using colors to match the season or holiday, or make them in colors that match your favorite sports team or your child’s school colors. These wreaths are also a great way to use up any leftover pieces of fabric you have. Hang the completed project on your door, or give it as a gift.

Things You'll Need

• 12-inch or 14-inch Styrofoam or straw wreath
• 3 yards of fabric of your color choices
• Pencil or screwdriver
• Pinking shears
• Bow (optional)

Instructions

1. Cut fabric into 3-inch squares with pinking shears.

2. Wrap a piece of fabric around pencil or screwdriver with the right side of fabric facing pencil or screwdriver.

3. Push fabric into the foam or straw wreath and pull out the pencil or screwdriver, leaving fabric in wreath. Repeat with other pieces of fabric until the wreath is full.

4. Attach a bow if desired and hang on door to display.

Tips & Warnings

• Use college colors if your child is in college.

• For Patriotic wreath, use fabric in these colors: Solid red, solid white, and blue with white stars.

• Use NFL, NBA, etc. colors for the sportsman in your life.

• If a child is helping with this project, be careful that child doesn't poke himself with the pencil or screwdriver.
