Step1
Look how this brightens the room
To bring the light in a dark area -follow these recommendations
o Living areas often have one wall that is dark, position a mirror to reflect something lovely, to bring the outside in. You may have a lovely garden or water view; you will be bringing it inside. The size and style should work with the furnishings, simple or elaborate .The options are endless
Step2
Create a feeling that the space is much larger
o Mirror the entire wall .The room is automatically doubled in size. This works really well in apartments or small spaces where you may have a set area for the dining table , mirroring will uncramp the space and may reflect the great hanging light that may be suspended or the artwork on the opposite wall. Start to imagine the many different areas this could be done.
o Why not mirror your splashback in the kitchen it sparkles at night creates light and makes often a tiny area look so much bigger. Check that is the correct glass
Step3
Create an illusion that you can continue through to somewhere.
o You may have seen this really interesting effect, mirrors used in creating a never ending image. Look at the mirror you see the initial reflection and the reflection of the reflection and it continue.
o Create an imaginary doorway. You can create this inside by placing a door size piece of mirror on the wall, surround the mirror with architrave as if it were a door way. You will feel as if you could walk into another area. This also works beautifully outside on a boring garden wall. Frame it with faux stone or place a iron gate in front and grow creepers up the wall, endless ideas
Step4
Conceal and camouflage areas
o Consider the bedroom, perhaps you have walk in robes.
o I often conceal the door to the dressing area by mirroring the wall and the door and using a small silver handle .No architrave should be used here, as you want to keep it invisible and flat. This helps give you full viewing mirrors when dressing and looks great.
o Bathroom cabinets have been concealing clutter for years. Built set back into the wall and flush with the cornice the cabinet becomes nearly invisible whilst still storing all your toiletries.
