Use Acupressure Points for Nausea

Nausea and other stomach ailments can be tough to treat with medication. Many times, doctors will say the best treatment is to simply let it "run its course." But acupressure is a proven way to relieve nausea. By finding the right pressure points, you can find relief from your upset stomach and many other ailments.

Instructions

    • 1

Find relief from nausea through a pressure point on the elbow. You can find this point on the elbow joint on the inside of the biceps tendon. This point treats nausea and stomach issues as well as anxiety and chest congestion.

    • 2

Locate the next pressure point on your wrist. This point can be found by sliding your finger from the crease of your wrist up your forearm until you can feel the two tendons in the middle of the arm. This point treats nausea and motion sickness as well as anxiety, insomnia and carpal tunnel syndrome.

    • 3

Relieve yourself of nausea by massaging the pressure point found between your belly button and your sternum. This point is great for treating heartburn, diarrhea and poor digestion. Another abdominal point is found by sliding your finger into a depression that's found about two inches above your pubic bone. This point can also treat fatigue and weakness.

    • 4

Massage one or more of these points for three to five minutes, or until you feel relief. For best results, apply pressure with the tip of your finger, your knuckle or the eraser end of a pencil.
