1
Prepare a bun dough. Use a basic yeast bread dough and allow time for the dough to rise. Separate into individual buns. As an alternative, use pre-packaged buns or rolls.
-
2
Pre-heat the oil in the deep fryer. Use vegetable oil and heat to about 360 to 375 degrees F.

3
Beat several egg yolks in a bowl. Coat the buns thoroughly on all sides with the egg wash. The egg wash helps the buns brown.
-
4
Place the egg-washed buns into the deep fryer. Use tongs to lower one at a time. Stir so the buns will not stick together. Fry until the buns are a golden brown, about 2 to 4 minutes. Remove carefully from the oil and drain on paper towels. Allow to cool slightly.

Serve while warm. The buns may be dipped in condensed milk or condensed milk may be served on the side as a dipping sauce.

Tips & Warnings
The sticky buns can be brushed with melted butter after cooking. This works especially well when serving condensed milk on the side for dipping.
Experiment with other dipping sauces. Try chocolate sauce or fruit glazes, such as raspberry or orange. While not traditional, they provide a unique flavor.
