Vector images have a distinct advantage over raster images-they can be printed at any size without loss of quality. Because the images are created using formulations of curves, lines and fills rather than being compromised of pixel information, a user can adjust the size and the software simply recalculates appropriately. In addition, vector images are needed for certain jobs, such as vinyl cutting and other signage.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Figure out why you need to buy the vector images. Knowing the purpose the art is going to serve will help you look in the right spots.

  2. Step 2

Set a budget. This will also help narrow your search.

  3. Step 3

    Start searching for images online.

  4. Step 4

Decide if you want to order a CD or DVD with your selected images, or if you would like to download them from the site.

  5. Step 5

Enter your order and billing information, and then download your images or wait for your CD or DVD to come in the mail.

  6. Step 6

Hire a graphic designer if you need custom work done. Especially if you are looking for a logo, it's best to let a professional handle it. After all, this will be your corporate identity.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that any images you buy are "royalty-free." Otherwise, you will have to pay a fee per use every time you use the image.
