Vector images have a distinct advantage over raster images–they can be printed at any size without loss of quality. Because the images are created using formulations of curves, lines and fills rather than being compromised of pixel information, a user can adjust the size and the software simply recalculates appropriately. In addition, vector images are needed for certain jobs, such as vinyl cutting and other signage.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Figure out why you need to buy the vector images. Knowing the purpose the art is going to serve will help you look in the right spots.

  2. Step 2

Set a budget. This will also help narrow your search.

  3. Step 3

    Start searching for images online.

  4. Step 4

Decide if you want to order a CD or DVD with your selected images, or if you would like to download them from the site.

  5. Step 5

Enter your order and billing information, and then download your images or wait for your CD or DVD to come in the mail.

  6. Step 6

Hire a graphic designer if you need custom work done. Especially if you are looking for a logo, it's best to let a professional handle it. After all, this will be your corporate identity.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that any images you buy are "royalty-free." Otherwise, you will have to pay a fee per use every time you use the image.
