Things You'll Need:
- Camera
- Video equipment
- Water resistant camping gear
- Emergency and sighting plans
-
Step 1
Ascertain the locations where the most sightings of Bigfoot have happened. Obviously searching for Bigfoot in the Nevada desert will not lead to any discoveries. The most prolific areas for sightings are the pacific northwest and southwest portions of Canada.
-
Step 2
Plan a trip for at least a few weeks if not longer. Bigfoot is a shy creature that does not make itself readily available to the general public.
-
Step 3
Obtain the necessary gear for an extended outing. This requires camping equipment and tracking equipment. Bigfoot typically lives in rainy and forested areas so plan accordingly. Bring plenty of water resistant gear.
-
Step 4
Keep the search party relatively small. The more people that are out searching for Bigfoot the less likely a sighting will be. As stated previously, Bigfoot is shy creature and will not show itself if there is too much commotion.
-
Step 5
Bring documentation equipment on the trip. The search is fruitless without documentation. So obtain cameras and video equipment for the search. Also, make sure the equipment is made for outdoor use and is water resistant.
-
Step 6
Develop a detailed plan of action should a sighting happen. For example, suppose a searcher is outside alone without documentation equipment and spots Bigfoot. There needs to be communication equipment to help the searcher and a plan to assist them.
-
Step 7
Have an emergency plan in case something goes wrong. This can be applied to any camping expedition. In case something goes wrong there needs to be a plan to remedy the situation.
-
Step 8
Become familiar with the signs that Bigfoot is in the area. Such signs are footprints, broken branches high on trees, and specific fecal droppings.
