Put the rip fence at the appropriate distance from the saw blade for the project you are working on. Lock the handle of the rip fence.

Set the blade to the necessary angle by turning the bevel handle, and then lock the bevel in place. Adjust the height of the blade as needed.

Place some kind of support device behind the table when working with long pieces of wood. This will keep the wood from falling off the back end of the table and possibly causing bowing or kickback.
