Step 1
Check to make sure your car seat and stroller are compatible with one another. Some car seat and stroller combos are sold together as travel systems. For your baby's safety, you should only use items that are designed to work together. Universal strollers are available for purchase so you can use it with your current car seat.
-
Step 2
Place your child in her car seat. Your child should be secured just as if you were riding in your car. All harness and safety belts should be tight around your baby and they should be securely fastened.
-
Step 3
Set up your stroller. These strollers conveniently fold up so they can fit in the back of your car or in the closet. Make sure your stroller is pulled out and ready for the car seat. Lock the wheels on the stroller so it doesn't roll away while you're putting the car seat on there.
-
Step 4
Place your car seat on the stroller. If you are standing at the stroller handle, then the car seat will face you. The lip on the back of the car seat should fit over the child's tray of the stroller.
-
Step 5
Check to make sure the car seat is securely attached. Lightly push and tug on the car seat to ensure it doesn't tip over if the stroller gets knocked.
-
Step 6
Raise the canopy on the car seat and the canopy on the stroller to protect your baby from the weather. This is also good shelter if your baby is sleeping.
