How to Be a Favorite Niece

You love your aunt and uncle so much that it's easy to do the things that make them love you back. You want to be special though and they have a bunch of other nieces, too. There are things you can do to make yourself stand out among the other children. Follow these tips to be a favorite niece in your family.

1. Help your aunt and uncle as much as you can. Be kind at all times. Smile a lot and make them laugh. You will be such a pleasure to be around that you will be everyone's favorite.
2. Remember your aunt and uncle's birthdays. Give them wonderful, thoughtful presents. Make them homemade cards with loving words written inside. Tell them how you took the time to make the cards just right because they are so special.
3. Set a good example, especially if you are the oldest. Get good grades and stay out of trouble. Be the model child and your aunt and uncle will adore you.
4. Babysit their kids. If you're lucky enough to be the oldest, give them some time to themselves now and then. If you are younger, you can always offer to watch a child who is younger than you or offer to take care of their pets.
5. Visit them often. You don't want to just show up at special occasions. Spend time together. Phone them at least once a month or email them each week. Make sure you tell them how special they are to you.
6. Bake them stuff. In this rushed world, your aunt and uncle will welcome home baked goods with open arms. They will think of you every time they smell the fresh scent of homemade cookies and cakes.
7. Help them plan family events like Christmas and Easter. These times can become overwhelming. Offer to help prepare the dinner or wrap presents. There's nothing that says "I'm a wonderful niece" like giving your time.
