Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Visit local fast food places and fill out job applications. Don't forget shopping malls with food courts. Fast food places often post wanted ads at the front counter. Ask if you don't see a job ad.
Step2
Write a resume outlining your experience and qualifications. Make sure you include your ability to work weekends and after school. Include any job experience you have, including volunteer work. Drop off a resume and cover letter when you fill out a job application.
Step3
Be flexible. Be willing to work weekends and evenings. Outline your flexibility on the resume or application. Employers need people who can work various shifts, including holidays.
Step4
Ask to meet the store manager in charge of hiring. Tell the manager your desire to work at the restaurant. This extra step could get you the job. They probably get lots of job enquires but not too many people who ask in person.
Step5
Provide references who will say you are a reliable hard worker. Ask clergy members or teachers if this is your first job. Include parents of children you have babysat.
Step6
Be certain you have reliable transportation available late at night and on Sundays. Your employer needs to know that you can get to the job.
Step7
Make sure you know how to serve food and count back money. Although you will receive training, you have a better chance of getting the job with this knowledge.
