A predator is someone who stalks another person in different ways in order to gain something. Many predators are sexual predators, which means they are looking to possibly rape or sexually assault someone. Others are child predators ,and they are the ones who are seeking children to kidnap or hurt. Today, no one is safe and predators are everywhere. It is very important to be able to identify a predator.

Know that a predator can be anyone. A predator can be any age, race, sex, or from any culture or background.

Realize that a predator is someone who wants something from someone else. A predator will usually stalk a person to learn as much as possible. They will usually know the daily pattern of the person they are interested in attacking.

Call the police if you feel someone is following you, watching you or bothering you in ways that make you feel uncomfortable. The predator can be a stranger or someone you know. The police will have you complete a report, then assist you in watching for the possible predator.

Watch out if someone seems very interested in getting an invitation into your home. Sometimes predators will pose as service workers. Always ask to see an identification before allowing someone in your home. If they do not have proper identification, do not let them in.

It is very important that you talk open and honestly with your kids about answering personal questions.
