Step 1
Develop a "lesson plan." Create a theme for your class or series of classes. Try new tools, create unique page layout ideas, design and assemble borders, or teach the basics.
-
Step 2
Determine location, room space and length of time that the location will be available. Depending on the size of your class, you will need to have a space where scrapbookers can layout all of their supplies and books on tables.
-
Step 3
Establish time and/or times for one class or a series of classes. Also determine a set day and time of the week or month that your class will regularly meet.
-
Step 4
Gather tools. Be sure to have all of the tools needed to administer your class and allow your guests to use your tools if they do not have them.
-
Step 5
Organize supplies. Collect all of the supplies needed to make your lesson plan or class topic come to life. You may need paper, stickers, page inserts or 3 Dimensional accessories such as wires, buttons or eyelets.
-
Step 6
Make a "template". If you are going to teach page layout or design borders, it is prevalent to pre-make your lesson and make a template for others to see the finished product.
-
Step 7
Send out an invitation, postcard, email or simply call your guests. Invite friends who are experience scrapbookers and also encourage newbies.
-
Step 8
Encourage invites to bring their friends. Ask your friends to invite more friends. If they bring a guest, you could thank them by giving them a small gift.
-
Step 9
Plan for snacks and refreshments. Keep it simple with finger foods such as chips and dips, veggies, fruits or desert goodies. Or serve food with a theme. If you are having a themed class, roll the theme into your food. An example of this is a Summer Memories class; provide snacks like watermelon, fruit salad or sweets.
-
Step 10
Enjoy a class full of creativity and delight as you work toward capturing precious memories while scrapbooking.
