Submit your name for mailing lists. Receiving newsletters from different antique map societies gives you a better idea of how each particular map society works. Important dates or events are often marked. Review these dates to look for antique map society meetings, symposiums, lectures, map fairs, trips and more.

Compare the antique map societies. Many societies specialize in the procuring and maintaining of certain antique maps. Often, antique map societies concentrate on a particular aspect of the antique map such as a theme, a world event, a specific cartographer or a time in which the maps were created.
