Instructions

1
Sand all of the boards to make all the edges smooth.
-
2
Make the bottom frame of the table. Make a rectangle with the two 5-1/2-foot boards and two of the 18-inch boards. Screw two screws through each corner. Find the center of the rectangle, lengthwise. Place the other 18-inch board across the frame and secure it with two screws through each end of the board.
-
-
3
Stand a 3-foot 2 x 4 board vertically in each corner of the rectangular frame. These are the legs of your table. Attach these boards to the frame with 2 screws through each of the corners.
-
4
Stand the frame up on its legs so the wooden rectangle is on the top.
-
5
Measure 11 inches from the side of the rectangle and mark that spot. Mark the center of a 1 x 8 foot board. Line up the mark with the 11-inch mark on the table.
-
6
Center the 1 x 8 lengthwise on the frame so the overhang is equal on both sides.
-
7
Attach the 1 x 8 inch board to the horizontal boards on the rectangular frame with 2 screws through each board.
-
8
Lay the other 1-by-8 inch boards beside the middle board. Attach them to the frame with 2 screws through each board.
-
9
Varnish or stain the table from top to bottom. Be sure to stain the sides and legs of the bamboo table.
