Apply to the college of your choice and begin completing your undergraduate requirements.

Take advantage of internships during the summer. Having an opportunity to work with an experienced youth pastor can be a great learning tool.

Volunteer to work with an area youth group at a church while still an undergraduate. This will give you insight into the regular workings of a youth program during the year.

Begin sending out your resume to area churches you know are looking for a youth pastor in the coming months. Do this all during your senior year of college.

Interview for youth pastor positions at churches you think would be a good fit for you.

Step 7
Continue your education in seminary after getting your first job as a youth pastor.
