Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Choose your fabulous beach location. Spend time researching online, looking at photos and exploring hotel accommodations before settling on the perfect romantic beach of your dreams. Consider your budget and how easy it will be for your guests to travel to and afford the accommodations of your chosen location.
Step2
Decide what time of year you would like to have your beach wedding. This is particularly important for tropical beach locations, as it can be too hot in the summer or there may be severe weather conditions to battle, such as monsoons or hurricanes.
Step3
Discuss the event with your friends and family. A beach wedding abroad may be out of reach financially for many of your loved ones, so decide who you will (or will not) bring along. If you opt to go alone, remember to take lots of photos or video to share when you get back home. You might consider throwing a reception or party when you get back, so your friends and family feel they are a part of the special occasion.
Step4
Research the marriage laws of your chosen country and prepare all the required documents. Most countries will ask for formal proof of identity as well as proof that you are single. If you plan to marry in a non-English speaking country, you will be required to submit official translations as well.
Step5
Determine whether you would like to arrange all of the details yourself, or buy a wedding package from a travel company. The difficulty in arranging a beach wedding abroad will vary depending on the location. Many travel agencies will arrange everything that you need, including the marriage certificates, the officiant, flowers and hotel accommodations, however these services can be expensive.
