Sexual slavery implies trafficking human beings, which affects literally hundreds of thousands of individuals, primarily women and children, every year. Many people are tricked into emigrating from their home country through promises of legitimate work, then forced into sexual slavery once they arrive at their destination. Debt and physical bondage keep them under control. Here are some things you can do to solve the problem.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Become aware of the extent of sexual slavery throughout the world. According to some sources, one million girls, between the ages of nine and 15, are forced into sexual slavery every year.
Step2
Decide that you are going to help. From the resources below and through your own research, find organizations dedicated to eradicating sexual slavery and volunteer your money and your time.
Step3
Join Meetup.com and look for groups around the world that are already joined together to help put a stop to human trafficking and sexual slavery. If you don't find a group in your area, begin one by putting your information online and asking for members.
Step4
Learn about the various bills going through your local, state and federal governments that relate to human trafficking. Support any efforts along those lines by phone calls, letters and emails to your elected officials.
Step5
Do research on the topic and share your information with the public through letters to the editor, or through contact with a staff reporter of a local or wide circulation newspaper.
Step6
Refuse to support establishments in your area like brothels, sex clubs or bars where "exotic dancers" perform. Find out about their business practices and bring pressure to bear to be sure that none of the women involved are there through exploitation or coercion.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you discover sexual slavery taking place, alert the authorities immediately.
